I have a masters in sculpture from the University of Iowa focusing on cast iron and bronze. By carving and shaping bonded sand I created the negative of what was to be cast. My primary focus was on miniature architecture of rural buildings and landscapes. I won a state competition to tour my work called “Sculpture on Iowa” which showed in six community galleries across the state. My thesis piece was awarded to be on permanent display at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. This 4'x8' was cast in8 parts which was inspired by trips as a young child with my grandpa John called "To Cleaves Creamer to Grandpas' Farm."
After having children, I chose a more manageable medium: colored pencil, pastels, and oil painting. Growing up on a farm in Iowa I’ve been inspired by common everyday object around me and my past. Over the years I have enjoyed the work of Grant Wood, Thomas Hart Benton, Ervin Earle, Georgia O’Keeffe, Bauhaus designs, and more.
For most of my life Interior designer has been my livelihood, working for high end furniture and window covering companies in Monterey CA, Santa Fe NM, and as an interior designer at Nebraska Furniture Mart.

In the spring of 2023, I picked up my art once again. This time to create angels.
With a long appreciation and wonderment of angels, I seldom find images that expressed their magical capabilities yet relatable presence. Inspired to create angels that connect to the viewer, the heart speaks to what may not be heard. As they look into our lives it makes us wonder; “what are they thinking” or “what would I ask of them”.
Representing them in a number of ways I portray them with a pet cat or a flock of hummingbirds which brings them a bit more down to earth. Yet I honor their connection to Source by “Showing Her Wings” or in surprise proclaiming “Hello Halo”. A Merkabah behind an angle simply “Watching” or the glow “In the Light” represents their crowning glory. In “The Connection” I envision the subtle energy flow to Spirit. My images remind me of the angels present in my life. My wish is that they bring awareness and wonderment to yours.
